inRoute - Intelligent Routing App Reviews

Best so far.

Simple, intuitive, fast start-up without the need to read 20 pages of instructions. For my routing needs it is truly the perfect app!

Has potential

For trip planning purposes using only an iPhone, this app is pretty darn good. Has some warts, like not being able to easily tell distances and times between waypoints, but overall it is pretty good. I used the GPS on a short ride home the other day. Pretty sure it uses the native Apple Maps. Felt sluggish and unreliable to me. I gave it several wrong turns and u-turns, and it did not keep up very well. I like the automatic features this app offers, especially the weather forecast on the route. With a little UI improvement, Id say this app could be a contender for my new go-to GPS solution.

Not the best

Was pretty easy to use, but would not give me routes when I put in destinations

Too expensive

$12 is too expensive for this app and most of the features are disabled in the free version. The app is just one notch above what you can do for free with google maps. I was expecting more for the price they wanted.

Tour

This app is perfect if your trying to map out a tour with your band! Brilliant! #messagetothemasses

Use it or loose it

This app suits everyone of my needs as a delivery man so long as I have no more than 25 stops (I never do) You can either use the app and pay the price of $11 for the route making magic, or you can lose your mind… Your choice

Great for EVs and Motorcycles

I have an electric motorcycle where the range is highly dependent on elevation and wind so this app is excellent in choosing routes with minimal climb. Also being able to map out multiple destinations and get a total miles travelled estimate is super useful.

Best in Class

It does what you think, is easy to use, the UI/UX is well designed and the developer is actively working on the app and responsive to feedback, and suggested features or improvements. Please some graphics designer help him with an icon. ;)

Best in Class

This app allows you to easily create a route, and then optimize it. I was able to plan a route of about 20 stops from my contacts, then right before the trip, add my partners stops by address! Couple of things need work. 1) the map would sometimes jump around, 2) It doesnt allow you to manually adjust and keep a zoom you want so you can zoom out to examine the next waypoint. This is a big deal as it annoyingly would force the zoom back in before I could touch the point to have it tell me the contact. 3) I was unable to figure out how to tell InRoute that we wanted to skip a waypoint and nav direct to the next. But, the developer contacted me and explained how. This app was indeed what I was looking for, and will just get better. I would prefer if some of the premium services were optional, so I could pay for just what I need. Im not I tested in paying for the weather, I can provide that myself with a better service. But I do love the voice turn by turn and route optimization.

One Week In Wilderness on Motorcycles / Results

Ive been using this app since Its first release. Its far ahead of anything out there and tromps on all of them when it comes to features. Nothing even comes close, and Ive purchased far more than I want to admit. With recent updates, Ive been blown away with its route planning, its turn by turn spoken directions and other time planning. Recently I sponsored a rally of Kawasaki sport touring bikes and created highly complex all day routes through tight twisting roads in and around the Smoky Mountains. Others in the group used the same app. Sharing was easy as heck. The real test was would it work when out of cell service. The answer was that rarely was in data service, but InRoute talked me thru every turn for hundreds of miles every day. I was shocked. All of us out of 30?riders relied on it for an entire week. Easily, this is the best route planning product on the market.

Versatile app

Have used this app only a couple of times, but so far it is the best road trip planner I have found.

School bus stops

I like this app the price is a little high, but its a worth it. Some things that would help I would like to be able to drag the route where I need it but doesnt always work and if I could label stops on the map would be helpful. Maps and printing is key for my work.

Five Star

I think this app is great. Could it be better? Sure. What app. Couldnt? What is its attributes you ask? It has to many good points to list, and yet is simple to use. I would like to see a filter for low ceiling warning & tunnels/overpasses as well as rest stop and fuel center locations made available if wanted. However it is possible to place them by putting in the coordinates or address even now. Simple as a cool breeze. It is my favorite route app. I gladly give it 5 stars.

No better than google maps

Glad it was free. I was looking for an app that could plan a trip with the ability to edit speed, distance per day, etc. this fell short.

10 € for the update

« The latest version of inRoute today becomes the first voice guided navigation app that automatically checks your route for severe weather! » Great ! And that’s exactly what I expected like two years ago, when I first bought this app. Now I almost rebuy it, to finally have this functionality. Don’t get me wrong, you’re doing a great job, and you deserve this money, because your app is definitely a must-have at least for motorcyclists.. But updating the app, I was expecting a special attention for previous users ans your early supporters.. ** Users, don’t forget to restore your previous purchases, before rebuy the hole app !! **

Really handy

.. I using this app to do my trip aroud the east coast of Australia! Its awesome ...

25 not enough

Please allow more than 25 stops per Route. I am delivering Pakets and have like 46 Stops each Night. Would be awesome!

Excellent app!

I really love this app. Its very practical and user friendly for planning a trip. I especially enjoy the possibility to find and add interest points, e.g., hotels, restaurants along the route. It would be nice though if we could automatically access the websites from the app (a wish for future update). So I highly recommend this app for trips planning.

Great app with a lot of potential

This app was just what I was looking for, to be able to plan a roadtrip. You can set multiple "waypoints" or checkpoints along the way to your destination. One suggested improvement: the ability to save trips for future offline viewing. This would be a lot more practical for use on the road. Wifi is sparse, and Data roaming is expensive. Offline saving and viewing of trips pleas (and thank you!)

Coordinates

I like it because it gives you coordinates which can then be entered in to your gps. Cant seem to get the coordinates from the Google or Apple Maps apps. Just wish I could share route with Co-Pilot Truck.
