inRoute - Intelligent Routing App Reviews

One concern. When planning a route in the future and a road happens to be closed now due to wether then the route planning failed. Customer service immediately returned an email with an explanation. Overriding a closed road is not possible even if the departure date is in the future. Otherwise the best route planning app available now. I tested them all.

I use this for planning sightseeing trips in my RV. I can save all kinds of locations (campgrounds, points of interest, etc). Plus you can view conditions along route, including elevation, which is especially helpful when planning trips through mountains in an RV.

Nice app so far so good no complaints yet. Works perfectly great job guys and gals.

A good way to set up a multi-stop trip, with info on weather, altitude, etc. But the program insists on recalculating the route every time you add or change a waypoint, and the recalculation is extremely slow.

I love this app. When I go for runs, I like to just go and I hate it when I get caught in a dead end street or lost. This app lets me plan my distance runs in miles or kilometers and turn by turn. I can open any of my saved routes to GPS where it tells me where and when to turn on my wireless headphones. I wish it had my playlists too but I have another app for that. I highly recommend it.

Very useful! We pull a small RV and it is great to know the elevation changes and expected wind speed and direction on the route. Also curviness of the road. I really like this app.

You have yo pay before using the app. There are some free alternatives better than this app. Not free at all.

Have been using the app for about a month. Bought app for routing multiple stops, and it seems to do this very efficiently. Eliminates a lot of backtracking. Works very well pulling stops from the address book. Interface could still use improvement, and those extras; temperature, elevation, etc. seem unnecessary; just show me how to get where I need to go and Ill catch a weather report on the radio. Once placed on the map, nice that pins can be left for future use; a real plus when you are going to revisit the same locations. Would definitely recommend this app.

I liked that I could go hotel to hotel and even add stops for sightseeing and still have an accurate time table. Upgraded to premium and now even get whether and bad weather alerts. Great app

I just think there is no way that this is worth the money. Maps does almost a good a job. I am asking for my money back.

Ive been using this app since Its first release. Its far ahead of anything out there and tromps on all of them when it comes to features. Nothing even comes close, and Ive purchased far more than I want to admit.

Setting a route is easy. Wish it was as easy to get devices to sync.

I use this every time we go on a road trip. Its great to look at and compare alternate routes on the fly.

I use it to plan motorcycle rides. It is the most awesome app, easy to use, and vary comprehensive route planner. I love this App!!

The positive reviews wholly confuse me. Im usually not a dissenter when it comes to app ratings, but I really find this app utterly useless. I was attempting to use this app for a road trip from California to Colorado and the app had difficulty finding specific addresses. Even when I drop a pin, it finds the worst possible route. I would not recommend this app; I definitely should not have paid for it. I find Pocket Earth and Gaia GPS to be far superior.

For 15 yrs I used g maps and spreadsheets. This is organized well. Much easier.

Great app- very helpful!!! But i dont use the in app gps, its not practical

Ive been using inRoute to plan a very long road trip - it been super helpful. Being able to search for things at mileage or hours of driving intervals over the span of a trip has been invaluable.

I use it to plan my trips, and then I save them for future review. Great App!

This is the only app Ive found this far that allows me to very explicitly select the waypoints I want to visit and/or routes I want to take that really sticks to them. It doesnt try to get me there the most efficient way, it gets me there the way I told it I wanted to go. I like the twistys. I like to stay off the highways and InRoute lets me do all that. Ive used to it map routes for a group and shared that route with my friends using .gpx format and its worked flawlessly. I admit that I really like a Mac version so I can map my routes on the computer, but thats a minor niggle.
